Someone knows your child.
Familiar teachers learn each child’s strengths, help with big feelings, and make belonging the starting point for learning.
Green Garden · Great Start Readiness Program
Four is for questions, friendships, muddy discoveries, big ideas, and trying again. At Green Garden, Michigan’s no-cost Pre-K program still feels like childhood.
The learning is already happening
A child studies a fallen branch, asks a friend to help move it, changes the plan, and tries again. There is science in the noticing, language in the conversation, and confidence in the decision to keep going.
Green Garden’s GSRP classrooms use HighScope’s active-learning approach. Children make plans, explore real materials, work with others, spend time outdoors, and return to their ideas. Teachers observe closely, support relationships, and help children carry their thinking further.
Why Green Garden
Kindergarten readiness grows through meaningful work, not a rush toward worksheets. Our teachers make room for the skills children build while doing.
Familiar teachers learn each child’s strengths, help with big feelings, and make belonging the starting point for learning.
Children plan, build, create, solve problems, and reflect. Teachers offer the next useful question or material.
Outdoor spaces invite movement, observation, appropriate risk, and discoveries worth revisiting.
