Careers at Green Garden
Children need adults who notice their ideas, stay close through hard moments, and keep growing alongside them.
At five Metro Detroit schools, educators bring play, nature, real materials, and relationships into every day. If you want your work with children to mean something beyond getting through a schedule, there is room for you to grow here.
Pause. Notice. Connect. Try again.
Five schools. Many ways to grow. One belief in childhood.
Nature · Play · RelationshipsThe work, up close
A child’s question, a disagreement between friends, a muddy discovery: these moments are the work. Our educators take them seriously.
Notice what children are trying, communicating, and learning before deciding what support they need.
Offer real materials, outdoor time, and questions that help children investigate and return to their thinking.
Regulate yourself, connect with the child, set a clear limit, and help them build the skill the moment calls for.
A place to practice and grow
Working with young children asks a lot of a person. It also gives us a reason to keep learning: from children, from families, and from one another. We believe educators deserve coaching, honest conversation, and opportunities to develop their craft.
Across our schools, the spaces include gardens, outdoor classrooms, animals, and materials children can actually use to test an idea. The adults matter just as much. We are building teams that can reflect, repair, and grow together.
